Over the last few months the most popular laminate has been the 12mm laminate, it is tough durable scratch resistant and most people cannot tell the difference between it and hardwood.
I would recommend if you have pets especially dogs go with the laminate instead of wood, it is almost scratch resistant compared to wood.
